Project Value: R20 Million

heritage home renovation

This 116 year old mansion with a heritage grade IIIA is located in Oranjezicht, Cape Town. Building a large 4 car garage under an existing protected tree and adjacent to the existing dwelling walls had some challenges that were positively overcome. The property was totally renovated while protecting all heritage elements.  During the renovation the entire roof was replaced with a rheinzink roof whilst protecting the decorative ceilings.

This renovation project consisted of many different specialized elements including the terrazzo floors, terrazzo stairs, rheinzink roof construction, shuco double glazed aluminium facades, integrated gaggenau appliances, refurbished AGA and fire places, protected and refurbished original origan pine floors and stairs, hand crafted tiles and much more.

“Working with Grenco on this project was a pleasure.  The team exhibited an eagerness to complete the project successfully and a willingness to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances which typically accompany an alterations and additions project of this nature.”
